About ModelShelf

A curated library of digital building blocks for designers, architects, and makers.

Our Vision

ModelShelf’s mission is to make design work faster, clearer, and more consistent — whether you work in CAD, 3D modeling, or BIM.

We collect high-quality blocks, hatches, models, and BIM objects from trusted sources and famous brands — organizing everything in one library so you don’t have to search high and low for something that works.

One standard. One place for designers to stay organized and focused on what really matters: better projects.

Sustainability & Ethics

We believe organized design libraries help everyone work more sustainably and responsibly.

ModelShelf is built on the belief that well-organized design libraries help everyone work smarter — which also reduces wasted time, redundant downloads, and messy storage.

We do not create or claim ownership of the original product designs or brand models. Instead, we gather assets that are freely published by trusted manufacturers and brands and organize them in a consistent, searchable structure.

This makes it easier for designers to find and use brand-approved products accurately — which supports both the design community the original brands by improving how their products appear in real projects and visualizations.

We respect intellectual property. If a brand ever wishes to up date or remove content, we respond promptly and responsibly. Our goal is to be a helpful bridge between designers and the brands they already love and specify.

Legal Notice

ModelShelf does not create, modify the core design of, or claim copyright or ownership over any of the digital models, blocks, or assets provided in this library.

All models, drawings, and product representations remain the intellectual property of their respective brands, manufacturers, or original creators.

To maintain a clean, consistent experience for users, ModelShelf may adjust file organization, naming, layer structure, or folder hierarchy — but the actual geometry and design details are preserved exactly as provided.

We only collect and organize files that are freely available and intended for designers, architects, students, and other industry professionals.

It is the responsibility of each user to verify dimensions, specifications, and usage rights before using any asset in commercial or production contexts.

If you are a brand or rights holder and have questions, updates, or wish to request removal of any content, please contact us directly— we are committed to full cooperation and compliance.

Our Story

ModelShelf started from real frustration — and a spark of opportunity.

After I finished my Master’s in Architecture, I couldn’t find a job for a long time. While searching, I needed something productive and meaningful to work on — so I came back to an old pain point: during my studies, I spent countless hours hunting for the right 2D block or 3D model to illustrate ideas properly.

I thought: What if there was one place, with a single, clean file structure, full of good models ready to use?

That idea became ModelShelf — a passion project to save designers time, help students learn faster, and raise the standard for organized digital libraries.

While building ModelShelf, I also started part-time BIM studies , which made the need even clearer: finding clean, usable BIM objects is often even harder.

ModelShelf is independent, built in my spare time, and your support keeps it alive. With enough subscribers and contributors, we can keep expanding and improving the library for everyone.
